A top house, have good parties, good location. However, they are very full of themselves and are a common enemy of sorts to most of the other top fraternities because of their attitude. They are frequently in fights with PKA and DSP. The guys are often described as guys who were unpopular in high school and are now overcompensating by trying to be overly "fratty". Almost more of a social club than a fraternity, although they are diverse in the type of guys they are also very cliquey.

I hate to say it, but as a freshman i joined one of the other top houses on campus to party, and i regret it now. I live with a guy in lambda and im a little jealous. Lambdas are more down to earth and have a brotherhood that is definitely different from mine. Girls seem to notice that they arent tools like a lot of frat guys too.

def better than pike or dsp. dchi isn't even close. i'm bummed we wont be doing much with them in winter! theyre hot, fun and fratty! too bad they only hang out with achio, aphi and ek though. they need to diversify!

Lambda gets a lot of criticism from the Greek community for being a "social club," and while they're certainly trigger-happy with their bids, there are some good Lambdas. However, as a whole they're pretty average. Nothing really differentiates them aside from their huge chapter size and their massive Lambda Cabana party, so be aware that Lambda isn't the most serious fraternity on Cal Poly's campus.

These guys always throw the best parties out of greek life. I dated a guy in this frat for a while, despite what the low rankings say below, these guys are the best all around. Nice, well mannered, sweet, yes a little fratty but who couldn't use some of that. They are definitely not just a social club, they probably do more philanthropy than half the other frats. If you don't like them then you probably just didnt get talked to at their parties, didn't get a bid, or are just jealous.
