I'm looking to transfer to tech from UNC in the spring. Will it be hard to get a bid from a good fraternity as a second semester sophomore?

No, if they like you they would take you. Being a soph shouldn't be a problem.

Fraternity Rush at Tech is a "buyer's market" as long as you have some social skills.
