Do not:

-Pretend to be something you're not (we can tell because girls who do this start using a really fake, high-pitched voice and exaggerated body language)
-Do the opposite and be standoffish because you think it makes you look cool (it makes you look uninterested)
-Talk about anything you wouldn't mind saying in a job interview (if you seem like a trainwreck, mean-spirited, or otherwise a liability to the chapter you will get cut)
-Give yourself a bad reputation on campus or otherwise (see above ^) because we WILL know about it

Do:

-Get to know the girls where you can outside of recruitment without acting like we're a means to an end (if we don't click, don't force it and don't be annoying). #1 on our lists are always girls we've met and have gotten along with, major plus if more than one girl can vouch for you
-Listen before you speak. It's so obvious when people are just waiting for their turn to speak rather than actively engaging and being interested in what the other person has to say
-Talk about what you love to do, your interests, accomplishments etc. We aren't just looking for friends, we're looking for potential leaders that will be involved in running the chapter itself

Lastly it's fine to be nervous, it's pretty nervewracking on our end too (starting convos with strangers is always weird). Just address it and move on. If you're in the right place you'll warm up very quickly to each other.
