Boston University - BU 2.5 Can't lie greek life at bu sucks. Its not arizona state or u mich or florida state. People still take it seriously tho. frats fight over which pulls more and which dudes look more like dudes rather than street lamps. srats fight like they are still in hs and say they are better without explicitly calling the other worse because they arent as attractive. Moral of the story is people join to make a group of friends of like minded individuals and then after 2 years of living in a damp basement with led lights and bad djs move on to bars and real night life. Dont take it so seriously, your real life is after bu. in the meantime go listen to some sweet caroline at every frat besides Sig Ep. Those guys suck

Boston University - BU 5.0 everyone at BU is in greek life, the best chapters are PKT and GPhi. Everyone wants to be in one of these organizations! Every chapter has a super nice house or a nice suite in Myles.

Boston University - BU 3.8 Not a large portion of BU is in greek life, but because of the large size of the school the community is still pretty big. Great way to make a big school feel smaller without ever running out of new like minded people to meet. Definitely a range of personalities found in each organization, from the typical fraternity/sorority members one would find on Blue Mountain State to the alternative types. No official greek housing, so the houses vary from year to year but mostly alternate between some of the best suited in Allston which do the job pretty well. Once in the community, there is the option to attend social events 3 days a week and once you begin to go out to bars/clubs around 5 days a week. If you're not in greek life and you're a girl you're limited to the weekends and only to the houses that are having open parties, but you shouldn't struggle to find at least one that'll open it's doors to you. Be warned, the more fun houses typically are more selective with who they let in. If you're a guy not in greek life, you'll be subjected to drinking in your dorm room with a few friends for 2 years until you turn 21 unless you happen to stumble upon a really desperate house that will let you in because you brought a few girls; Even then, those parties are likely going to be a major disappointment. Most fraternities have policies to refuse any and all guys into their house, even if several brothers are close friends with that guy, so you'll be out of luck unless you join. Statistically, there are more women in BU's greek life then men, but because of the culture, less women regularly show up to social events, so the ratio feels very equal at the houses with good sorority relations and solid reputations. BU is a historically liberal school so many sororities focus on female empowerment and demand a lot of respect. The greek life here isn't going to be the same as a traditional southern school, but it definitely can still be a classic college experience and can be preferable to many, especially those who grew up in or around metropolitan areas. As far as attractiveness goes, it's a big school with a range of greek organizations, there definitely are some very beautiful men and women, but you're likely going to find yourself in circles with people who are of similar levels of attractiveness. If you're a smoke, you'll be around other smokes, if you're a decent 6, you'll see a lot of 6's.
