Baylor focuses more on gpa instead of what the typical big greek systems do- looks, activities, etc. baylor does several Fall get to know you meetings - they are lame- most of thre time, no one even takes your name down/records it. They dont rush until Jan, which I think is so dumb. Greek not a big deal at byalor IMO.

My sister went to another big school and honestly if I could do it all over I would have gone with her. I love the school but I wish we had a better greek life. If you're looking for a school that is big into greek life, baylor isn't it. Basically you know what chapter you're going to rush before you even go through, baylor just does "rush" just for the pictures and to say they did. We don't even have houses... that makes me sad

Come from a school where greek life isn't the best. But expected a lot more from Baylor. Greek organizations have little to no presence here.

The are very some things about Baylor’s Greek life that make it difficult to a part of. For one, there is no associated housing. Yes guys live with their frat bro and girls live with their sisters, but there are no designated houses, which sometimes makes it hard to really connect with that particular Greek org you’re a part of. Another factor about the Greek system at Baylor is the uneven ratio of frats to sororities. They are twelve frats and only nine sororities. Also another weird rule is that sororities are not allowed to throw parties, only the frats are, which is ironic cause Baylor is anti-alcohol. The last problem with Greek life at Baylor is that because there are so few Greek orgs, it is very competitive to join sororities or fraternities there and they are very selective.

Anyone who claims there isn't hazing is lying! Baylor is a Christian university and yet they know hazing is happening and don't want to be involved or do anything about it. Every pledge class should have someone outside the organization attend all pledging activities and then maybe it will be minimized. But I have heard the hazing at Baylor is worst than what it is at other colleges and universities. Being a Christian university may even make it worse cus a lot of these guys have pent up frustrations that they take out on each other and the women.

Greek life at Baylor varies heavily based on which Fraternity or sorority you go with. Specific fraternities and sororities go hard, but are forced to keep it on the DL because of how strict Baylor is on everything involved with partying. Greek Involvement generally earns respect around campus and involvement in Baylor and Waco community is pretty significant. All around would highly recommend getting involved and finding the fraternity or sorority that best fits you, because there is enough diversity for everyone to find their fit.

Many girls join sororities (over half to my knowledge) and so do a fair number of guys. There is no official Greek housing. Most organizations are very passionate about their philanthropies (it is Baylor after all). Parties don't tend to be huge, but there is a scene Thursday-Saturday--even Wednesdays. You probably need to be in Greek life to even hear about anything though. There are gorgeous girls in every sorority. Fraternities have a lot of attractive guys--probably some of the best looking on campus. Baylor is 60-40 female anyways, so Greek life is also mostly women. The sororities do not haze. Fraternities have dry pledging. Sororities are pretty hard to get into if you haven't rushed all fall semester--I cannot speak for the fraternities as much on selectivity.

No prestige in the system (not like at UT, or even Tech or A&M) One of the easiest sorority rushes you could ever go through. Not competitive at all. No greek houses. Parties are really just one step above high school kick backs and nobody is impressed. Go to a state school if you want to see a real greek experience.
