suppose now is better late than never. Movement has been the 'ruling' party for the past 20 years or so, rebranding every year or two to keep up to date. They are supported by the secret organization burning spear, and are basically simps for the FSU administration.
Progress is a new party (there's almost always a competitor party) - which is trying to take down that oligarchy. The reason they got more support this year from greek houses than the secondary party normally gets (SAE, Tri-delt, DZ, FIJI, etc.) is because they actually have a plan to improve greek life on campus instead of just continuing to let FSU administration cuck them out of existence.
Basically: Movement is more of a guaranteed win, so more people in upper-tier greek life tend to run with them - because they want the title on their resume. Progress is better for Greek Life in the long run, so they got more support this year than previous secondary parties ever did.

I have literally never heard anyone from movement speak on the issue of greek life basically being destroyed from the inside, but it was the first thing that was talked about when I asked progress about their opinion.
Their biggest supporter rn is literally beta (over half their greek candidates), like I don't know how much more anti-greek you can get than that

Because it’s advantageous for the bigger fraternities to support the current system. They’ve avoided getting suspended by supporting it, watching all other Greek orgs getting destroyed around them, and technically that is advantageous to them. It’s a lot easier to be top tier when there’s only 9 fraternities
