This is why people hate sig ep
by: AlrightThis is the real reason people hate sig ep. first off: Greek life already has a target on their back and instead of banding together with other fraternities, sig ep chooses the side of the administration. The literally kiss the ass of the student affairs people , to the point where they get commended for “setting themselves apart” by people like Vice President Hecht who is single handedly taking down fraternities . Second: they don’t even act like a real fraternity : they don’t call pledges “pledges” because it’s a “lifetime process of brotherhood”, have a dry house, house dad and more therefore putting pressure on other fraternities when there’s already a lot. Last, they straight up lie about stuff, just spreading misinformation to get kids to rush. They talk up they’re new house when it’s literally a sorority house down to the specifics . They don’t have tailgates, party at potbellies , comment on here that “spedc was the best party of the year” and that they “rage”. Just straight up lying. It all roots down to them being the definition of top tier wannabes. They copy pikes clothing brand to sound cool “lonely at the top” and try to front like they’re cool when sororities like adpi tried to get a new diamond man when a sig ep won because they didn’t want him. Just own up to you actually are. I’m done. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Sig Ep is successful. Sig Ep is different. No, they are not better than Pike/ATO/Theta Chi. Not now anyway.
Sig Ep has a beautiful new house, truth. They are strictly dry (it's not some old alum living in as a monitor; its a guy put there by national).
They have no pledging. At all. They're like a boy scout troop. You get a badge the day you join and then you work your way up over four years. No, they cannot have a 'party house' off campus because the insurance company will recognize that as a "informally designated Sig Ep location'.
The poster who wrote the novel saying that Sig Ep will save the fraternity system seems to think that everyone is jealous of Sig Ep. They are not.
But neither is Sig Ep disrespected. They are a good fraternity with quality members. What irritates some folks is the attitude on the part of some Sig Eps that they are 'pure' and that they alone represent the future of male Greek Life.
That does not seem to be the case at other schools around the south.

Sig Ep used to have a heart shaped fraternity pin. Is that all gone now too?

The guy put in the house by Nationals is a sigep himself. They do not allow anyone to live there who isn’t a sigep because they have their own secrets just like anyone else. They do have pledging but it’s not a whole semester long process. You do not get a badge, ever. Nobody said anyone was jealous of sigep, but you get the wrong idea about them and what they are.
