tips for rush??

I went to a smaller high school that doesn't send a lot of kids to FSU, so I don't know any guys from back home in frats up here. I think this puts me at a disadvantage to guys who are more well-connected, so I was wondering if anyone in a similar situation could give some advice.

You don’t have to be connected. FSU is a little different than other Deep South big schools. Just visit all the houses and enjoy the ride.

Are you in any classes with current actives? If so, don't be a stiff and talk to them when you can. Assuming you aren't weird about it most guys will definitely want to add you to their pre-rush roster. I know my chapter has about 40-45 Rushees coming around the house or to pregames/tables as of now, and I'm sure the others are too.
