dismal rush numbers for spring

by:

Word on the street is there’s less than 400 guys signed up for rush. If the deadline isn’t extended it’s gonna be tough for the chapters to make budget with that small of an average PC

People were saying the same thing about Fall Rush. Fall was really successful. ATO, Theta Chi, Pike, KA, Sig Ep, and SAE all had large Fall pledge classes. (Heard KA had their largest class ever.) The Spring may be small but it always is. Fall sets the budget. Spring is smaller, but since everyone has been here for a full semester, it’s just streamlined Rush. Quality over quantity.

Which means Pike, ATO, theta chi, Sig Ep, and KA are going to be the only ones with a good pledge class

The good thing about fraternity rush is that anyone who wants to get out and hustle can really improve and upgrade their chapter size and quality. Sororities can NEVER do that because of the extreme rush restrictions. We can have guys sign bid cards in the summer, or anytime! If you look for guys you want to pledge, you can get them signed up and they never have to even see another fraternity. I'm ranting because I'm trying to get my own fraternity to realize this.

Dawg, it’s not misinformation. I checked the signup roster, the final number was 362.

It’s stupid to make them sign up BEFORE rush. Let them go through and see if they want to join, then if you want them to pay a fee do it then. You wouldn’t pay a fee to a dealership to go look at cars. IFC should be on our side, not the admins.

Whose idea was it to charge rushees a fee to go through rush with no guarantee that they'd get a bid? Where does the money go? The first rule of business is make it easy for your customers to buy. This is all on IFC and its stupid.

Rush is always smaller and more laid back in the Spring. Pledge class sizes are usually about half what they are in the Fall. Also, the official count doesn't take into account that most houses have already have a lot of their spring pledges locked down or factor in that a bunch of upcoming TCC transfers for the Fall will probably be pledging this spring. So, settle down sweetie.

There are only 15 active frats and 2 or 3 of them are still in the penalty box with restrictions until the end of the year. Houses had big pledge classes last fall and on average don't look for more than around 20 in the Spring. There are plenty of rushees to go around.

ATO is still on probation through end of spring semester. Kappa Sig is on disciplinary probation with restrictions on alcohol events until end of fall 2020. Sae is on social probation with restrictions on alcohol through end of spring. I know no one cares about Sae but they are still officially considered a fraternity.

ATO is NOT on any ort of rush probation this spring, and they did take a pledge class this fall (2019). Stop lying.
