A lot of people rush. We don’t take many so use your time wisely when selecting which house you realistically think you’re gonna get into.

Don’t worry about ‘how many’. Most fraternities take large classes in the fall. Go to the Pike house for rush and enjoy it. Pikes are actually nice guys. Enjoy going to all the fraternities for Preview and rush week.

We take around 50-60 every fall including varsity athletes. Other frats take 70+ then ball a quarter of them. We don’t do that so that you can have the opportunity to find the one you fit in the most and not start a semester behind.

I recommend that you come early to our rush, then if you aren’t a fit we won’t waste your time and won’t be douches about it. Our rush is very professional and organized, think of it as a job interview.

Pretty solid response. I wish sororities did it the same way.

I think he means come to Preview and come early the first night of official rush week. BUT some fraternities like Pike and others give bids anytime. They don’t wait till the official rush week. You just can’t officially be a pledge until you pay IFC the rush fee and attend a mandatory orientation. But you can sign a bid card early. Fraternities May have unofficial events off campus. Fraternity rules are a lot more causal than sororities.

“Aaron” pretty much has it right - I’m not Pike but our rush process is fairly similar, and we already have a good 15-20 guys with either bidcards in hand or pretty much ready to go for fall, with another 40-50 on our “radar.”

I’m pretty sure every top and even some middle fraternities have a similar process, these are the guys we invite to tables, get into our tailgates, etc before formal rush. Nothing wrong with that either, it’s just a way to get a leg up.

Lastly - pledge with the house that has guys you fw most. Fu ck rankings. Girls will like you either way.

This guy above is full of crap. Freshmen move in and most apartment move in around the 21st. No way he has 50 on their radar. Prob not even a pike loser. They will tell u info in the orientation.

So what the heck do you do if you haven’t been contacted by a top or mid tier fraternity? Is it just a lost cause at this point? Is Rush even worth the effort if they already have their pledge classes in place? Why do they do a preview for fraternities that already have given 15-20 bidcards and have the rest of their class on their radar?
