We take around 50-60 every fall including varsity athletes. Other frats take 70+ then ball a quarter of them. We don’t do that so that you can have the opportunity to find the one you fit in the most and not start a semester behind.
I recommend that you come early to our rush, then if you aren’t a fit we won’t waste your time and won’t be douches about it. Our rush is very professional and organized, think of it as a job interview.

“Aaron” pretty much has it right - I’m not Pike but our rush process is fairly similar, and we already have a good 15-20 guys with either bidcards in hand or pretty much ready to go for fall, with another 40-50 on our “radar.”
I’m pretty sure every top and even some middle fraternities have a similar process, these are the guys we invite to tables, get into our tailgates, etc before formal rush. Nothing wrong with that either, it’s just a way to get a leg up.
Lastly - pledge with the house that has guys you fw most. Fu ck rankings. Girls will like you either way.

So what the heck do you do if you haven’t been contacted by a top or mid tier fraternity? Is it just a lost cause at this point? Is Rush even worth the effort if they already have their pledge classes in place? Why do they do a preview for fraternities that already have given 15-20 bidcards and have the rest of their class on their radar?

Pretty solid response. I wish sororities did it the same way.
