the truth about rankings
by: pan loveMember of the Panhellenic community here and I just wanted to share this for any girls who may feel insecure based on the ranking of the chapter they’re in. I’m not someone who posts rankings but what I’ve realized just from looking at rankings on this site is that the purpose is to rank the sororities as a whole, not the individual girls. That being said, rankings are all about the NAME. So just because you’re in a lower/bottom tier sorority does not mean you’re a “bottom tier girl”. And when someone says xyz sorority is irrelevant, that does NOT mean you are irrelevant if you’re in that chapter it means the name xyz has not made as much of a mark on campus as let’s say kd- that’s why they’re able to attract so many really beautiful girls; it’s because pnms are attracted to the NAME (because like it or not most go in knowing the tiers) and for whatever reason, you may be just as beautiful/fun/smart as girls in top tier sororities but the STATISTICS just happened to not work out in your favor. So just try to remember this when you see the not so nice rankings on here- it’s not about you, it’s about whatever stigma has been attached to your chapter name and there’s not much anyone can do about it. That’s why the top tiers stay top and the bottom tiers stay bottom. It’s a domino effect and more of a numbers thing than anything.
