are rec letters necessary?
by: PNMThere are rumors that some sororitys require that a PNM needs a letter of recommendation in order to receive a bid. Is this true?

YES, recs actually help. There is some very bad advice on here from either trolls or ignorant people. With every house, having a rec can be the deciding factor in inviting you back or not when we love you and a bunch of other pnm's equally. Cuts have to be made, and the pnm's without the recs are the easy cuts. This can happen at any round, has nothing to do with getting past the first round. There are some houses that have a national policy to have a rec in order to offer a bid. Lots of pnm's do get their recs and you are competing with each other for invitations back, so why wouldn't you try to give yourself the best chance possible? You only need one per house.

Girls posting on here that recs aren't necessary are other pnm's trying to eliminate competition. Recs show that you really want our house and went to the trouble to get them. We notice. Don't fall for supposed members telling you not to. Recs are not a guarantee of a bid but they give you a little help in our evaluations of you.

definitely get as many recs as possible bc like one of the comments said, it can be a deciding factor on whether to invite you back if they’re kinda iffy on you. however, it is very much possible to go thru rush with no recs and get a bid, but this really depends on how strong of a PNM you are an
