pike or phi tau?

i know this site is biased as hell but i know i can get some good input. I'm rushing in the fall and have really only started looking at fraternities to rush. After watching the pike house tour vid and the snoasis vid on youtube from 2017, im really split right now.

i asked some of my friends from high school that have been at fsu for a year or two now and they give me mixed reviews about these two fraternities. From what I've heard, these are two of the more 'facey' fraternities at fsu. i get that some frats migght be better or worse than them but when it came down to it they said these two are the most recognized. can anyone help set some differences between the two for me as well as all the other freshman rushing. i think im leaning towards phi tau rn just from that snoasis vid alone lol

Phi tau is on social suspension for a few years, meaning no parties or events with girls. If that’s what you’re into, go for it

If you think you can get a bid at Pike, then by all means go for it. It's going to be really difficult, and last year the line at pike for rush was out the door. As a disclaimer I'm in neither of the fraternities you mentioned, and personally I would rather pledge somewhere like Delt or ATO.

Of the two you're torn between, however, Pike would be my suggestion. Best of luck

I'm in one of those two fraternities, Pike or Phi Tau. I can tell you that we like them and they like us. We're very different and that's why we get along. There's respect both ways. My best advice to you is to go where you feel comfortable, and you won't regret it.

id go phi tau without a doubt. a lot of pikes rep comes from its alumni and huge house. dont let phi tau's cookie cutter apartment house mask the fact that these guys are great to be around and you'll literally always see them at derd. derdsday? of course. friday happy hour? why not. saturdays at 11am. they dont sleep. they might as well move out of heritage and build some rooms on top of derd.
