about ranks and tiers with truth

by: Senior Nole

So by now you know that in Greek life the top sororities are Zta and kd. People often ask me which is better and to be honest I have many friends in both! I love love the vibe of Zta and appreciate equally kd.
For me personally, Zta wins the top spot because of their outstanding philanthropy for breast cancer. I give them props for always putting on a great event and raising tons of money. I think your choice on this tier can go either way but I truly respect both these houses

Upper- ddd Adpi Dg

All 3 are great great groups. My personal favorite in this tier is Ddd. These girls are just so freaking fun! So proud of Dg and the effort they have made with relationships and recruitment of nice girls. Adpi has made a strong comeback and is a very solid house. You won’t go wrong in any.

Mid- theta pi phi axo xo phi mu dz aphi

These are all VERY different. My personal fav is pi phi and xo.
Pi phi is low key but rocks line dance and xo girls are serious students. Much respect to both . Not a huge axo or dz fan but like lots of thetas.

Lower
Gphi kkg sdt Agd Aopi

Absolute sweethearts in Agd the others I’m not real familiar with

Your experience and thoughts are strikingly similar to mine
I agree except one of my mid tier faves is phi mu.

I just don’t see how a sorority with a huge spring PC can be considered “top tier” let alone top of the top

They had a very large group of seniors graduate in both dec and April as well as leave for internships.

Sorry to burst your fantasy, but a sorority can't take a class in January/February based on projected May graduations; it's based on the void left in their chapter total after December from people leaving. Some did graduate or are taking off a semester, but only major DROPS allow that huge of a spring class. Nice try though.

My sorority only took 8 PC’s at the spring rush so there may be a point here? Maybe?

Not that it matters to me but I’m weighing in on this thread.
Personally spring rush is nbd if a group has a large number graduating in December which I do think was the case here. I don’t think a pc class of 10-11 is huge when you have that amount leaving in dec. This really is a non issue it happens to every house at some point .
Trying to make any house look bad before recruitment is just not cool by spreading non factual information.

Good luck to all this year!

All due respect because I really don't understand the sorority recruitment process, but why is there such a stigma against spring rush? Especially since fraternity spring rush is not an issue whatsoever, in fact it's promoted and every single fraternity participates. Hell my fraternity took a PC of 29 this spring, ofc not all made it.

Just confused as to why that's such a bad thing. It honestly seems quite mature for a girl to wait a semester and make connections with different sororities before pulling the trigger and rushing, but ofc I'm certainly missing something.

Sororities are limited as to how many bids they can offer outside of formal rush. Total chapter membership is capped at an agreed number every year after rush in the fall. Any sorority under Chapter Total is then free to offer bids any time they want during the year to get up to that number. There are always some spring spots open from fall graduation and members leaving for a semester to intern or travel or whatever, as well as the inevitable few drops. There is no stigma in that. But this is a huge red flag on ZTA because of the abnormally large size of their spring class, which only happens from a high number of members dropping during the year. If they can't retain their members there is something bad wrong, either rushing poor quality members in fall or bad sisterhood in the house running people off.

It often equates to having several members drop. As in quit. My sorority didn’t have a spring rush. If you lose too many members, then you have to have a spring rush. It’s nothing at all against girls who wait a semester to rush. I have friends who didn’t rush until they were sophomores.

Zta wins the top spot for me too. Spring rush or not, they’re top.

i totally agree, pi phi is the best mid. super fun girls, cool to be around.

as for top, i think tri-delt and kd are top. they both are on the way up and kd(along with dg) stole so many girls from zeta's new pc, as they've done for a few years now. also, tri-delt is getting a huuge new house that will bump them past dg. zeta and dg are falling. also, just for reference, kd raised way more money for their philanthropy this year and so did dg, than zeta. All are amazing causes though, more about what you are more passionate about. also, love the girls in dg, so outgoing and welcoming and crazy fun. i would go tridelt/kd, dg, zta.
