why is greek life here very soflo?

If you go to UF (I know theres soflo frats in here, but a large portion of the frats are North Florida) or any big greek life school in Alabama and Georgia, there is a slightly "southern" feel to it. Like a blend of prep and country stuff. Which means you see stuff like school polos, everyone liking to hunt and fish, trucker hats, pocket tees, flannels, big pick up trucks and etc.

Then, FSU seems to be a slight anamoly. Greek Life here seems very SoFlo. I have nothing against SoFlo style or way of life, but I am curious to why it dominates the greek life system here in FSU. Considering FSU is more closer to the "deep south" than UF is.

FSU is near Alabama and Georgia, also I heard it used to be southern

Doesn't matter what it's near - it pulls most of its student body from south florida.

because all of the miami, boca raton, and melbourne kids who can’t get into miami come up here and it sucks

FSU is a weird marriage of Soflo party culture and Southern fraternity culture. You honestly can't find it anywhere else in the country.
