Not the person who posted this but I'm going to bump it. I'm still not sure who's paired with who other than my sorority and a few others

Why does the university get to determine which fraternity pairs with which sorority? Is that any of their business?

I was told that (x) fraternity was not allowed by FSU administrators to pair with (y) sorority because "they were paired up before too recently". Then there was something said about courting. I thought individual fraternities and sororities got to make their own decisions. I must be wrong. Maybe this is part of the new normal crackdown on greek life.

I think one of the OFSL's rules on homecoming pairings is that once a fraternity and sorority pair together for homecoming, they have a three-year period until they can pair again (I might be off on the number of years though.) I'm sure their reasoning for this is so that people in Greek life can socialize with a wide variety of people, but it definitely backfires because a lot of houses just cycle through homecoming partners (e.g., Zeta will ALWAYS pair with either Pike, Delt, or ATO for homecoming.)

This has been like this since before the Greek life lockdown in 2017 and in my opinion it's only made it worse. Now that a lot of fraternities that were older and popular like Phi Delt, Phi Sig, and Chi Phi are gone, a lot of sororities who had good relations with them are kind of stuck out in the cold. It seems like everyone is waiting to see where the dust settles and are just keeping to themselves.
