why do everyone act like pike are gods
by: incoming freshmanWhy is pike such a big deal? I get the house and stuff but everyone makes them out to be gods. Even people in other states and schools all are familiar with the pike chapter at FSU and regard them as legends in the greek world. Whats up with that?

Pike is a relentless self promoter. They've got a great website, an impressive magazine, they're the largest and they recruit big name athletes and student leaders.
The truth is that their members aren't that much better or different than anyone else's. And the truth is that any fraternity could do what the Pikes do, but no one does.

My dad is a Pike from FSU. He says hey have great alumni who are very involved with the chapter. They are deliberate about rush and about recruiting student leaders nd athletes and they are always the biggest fraternity. He says the alumni talk to the chapter about how important it is to be the best.

Meaning the suspension of all greek activities. Weak. FSU PIKE literally had the craziest run nationally the last 2-4 years, ending ASU's dynasty from 09-2012.

I do agree that they self promote, however i dont necessarily think any fraternity could do what the pikes do. Theres a variety of variables that contribute to the image pike has garnered as " legends" like extreme wealth, connections,involvement, the mansion and looks. I dont think that its easy to create such a strong reputation without alto of work and time. I also think there are definitely some fraternities who try to do what pike does but dont really pull it off. idk, its one of those things based off perspective. Im not a pike this just is based off of what ive seen and heard.
