If this is a serious question then you have to ask who was top house before Pike. Fifteen years ago the top houses were SAE, ATO, SPE, Sig Chi and Delt. Pike was just one of them, and not the best. What happened? SAE, ATO, SPE and Sig Chi all got booted. That left Delt and Pike. Phi Tao, Phi Delt, Phi Sig and Theta Chi also all rose in status.
Pike consolidated its power with the house, numbers, and alumni money. They want to be top house and that's not important to everyone.
