do sororities actually take sophomores?

by: Curious

I'm rushing as a sophomore and i'm worried my options will be very limited due to the fact that i'm not a freshman. I know there is a quota, but does that mean all houses have to take on some sophomores even if they don't need to? I'm just kind of confused about the process.

Rushing as a sophomore isn't uncommon at fsu. I have a few friends who rushed last year and got into houses they liked. However, you aren't rushing "against" the freshman, so you don't need to stand out from them because since you're a sophomore you are separate

Houses do not have to take sophomores, but if they do take some, it doesn't count against the number of freshmen they can take. That's why the previous poster said you're not really rushing against the freshmen. Good luck!

I am really interested about this. So sophomores are "rushing against" other sophomore pnms, not freshmen pnms? And I know that sororities have quotas for sophomores, but is the number of sophomores they take included in the amount of all the pnms they take or is it separate

Thank you! That makes me feel a lot better. I had to leave rush last year and had already fallen in love with a house and was going to their pref night. I know to keep an open mind cause i could fall in love with a different house this time around, but I just wanted to know that it's possible to get a bid from them being a sophomore now.
