ASU Greek life is weak compared to other large school
by: Anonymous
There are some key differences between ASU greek life now, and how ASU greek life used to be/how other schools are. Do you agree that ASU greek life is really weak compared to other schools? Do you agree with my list?
ASU
-ASU owned and monitored living village
-Off campus party in regular homes (like 2k square feet)
-Off campus houses not next to each other
-Parties not walkable from campus
-Parties get shut down because they are in neighborhoods
- ^^^ means we only throw daygers, no night parties
Old ASU/other schools
-Fraternities and Sororities own their houses
-Can throw at their 10,000 square foot houses
-Have fraternity rows, houses are all next to each other
-Greek row is right off of campus
-Parties don't get shutdown cause they are next to campus
-^^^ can throw daygers or night parties

Anytime the university controls the real estate. The culture is dramatically muted due to fear of getting kicked off for minor arbitrary infractions. Frats should know better than to enter into these transactions Stanford has taken houses since they own the land. Sigma Chi lost their house there since they don’t own the dirt.
