I am planning to go through recruitment in the fall. How important are recs? I live in a smallish university town and our local alumnae is full of alums from our local sororities and some of the larger popular Texas sororities. Having trouble finding someone I feel comfortable asking for two or three groups. I have a good GPA and was active in school. Will this mean automatic cuts?

not at all. just go through and you'll end up exactly where you need to be. if someone cuts you for the sake of not having a rec, then they are not worth it. Sororities at UH are not that big for recs to be so important.
