jmu frat pledging
by: jjohnCan anyone give me the rundown on how spring rush works for frats at JMU? I am a transfer student considering joining a frat and curious as to how the process works. Also can give me a glimpse as to the hazing that the pledges face??

Sig Nu does not make their pledges sober drive. Instead, they're forced to line up dressed up as peanuts and sing the Goofy Goober song.

You're not gonna get a straight answer from anyone on hazing. You should go into it assuming that you will most likely be "hazed" in some way or another. That could range from sober driving to lineups to PT to drinking. You won't know until you go through it. That being said, this isn't Bama, nothing is that bad. Just don't be a b.tch and you'll be fine.

99% of what you hear about hazing is made up. The fraternities that do haze keep their traditions secret. Anybody who tells you they know about a certain frats pledging is most likely lying. This site is full of rumours, nothing else. That being said, expect to at least sober drive and clean. Most of the southern frats that had brutal hazing got kicked off campus years ago (KS, SX, DX)

SigEp replaced destructive and dangerous hazing with a member development program relevant to each stage in college man's progress. Instead of "pledge" there is a methodical program for Sigmas
