other fraternities?
by: Nova transferHey so I just transferred to JMU and plan to rush this semester! I know I actually have to go and meet people to make an actual judgement of a fraternity as a whole, but i'm just trying to get some information about you guys beforehand. I've noticed that fraternities such as TKE, Alpha Sig, Delta Upsilon, and DTD hardly get talked about or even ranked in the discussion threads. Why is that? I get that they're not popular fraternities but it seems like no one even talks about them at all. Can you guys tell me a little about their chapters here?

Not trying to be mean but I'm just gonna be blunt. Those frats go under the "irrelevant" category only because they don't have mixers with sororities (and if they do it's the bottom of the bottom tiered sororitys) and you just flat out never hear anything about them. I don't even know if those frats even have parties.

I've heard of lower frats mostly having open parties. Every frat at JMU has parties and to suggest otherwise is simply not true. Even the "lowest ranked" (which is entirely subjective to begin with) has their fans, their houses, and their social circles.

I said I didn't KNOW if those frats had parties I never said they straight up didn't have any. Nobody ever talks about them.

Damn really? Didn't even know that was a thing to just not have mixers or parties for a fraternity. Thanks for the heads up
