What is the time commitment and cost
I'm a transfer looking to rush in the fall and was wondering what the time commitment and cost would be to join a sorority. Is a 3.4 too low of a gpa to get a bid? Could I maintain a long distance relationship with someone else in greek life while in a sorority or would it be too busy (if I planned to not be in town 2 weekends a month)

Time Commitment: show up to a chapter meeting once a week, show up to your sorority’s philanthropy events (usually 1 per semester), do other random stuff throughout the semester that is usually fun, doesn’t take much time, and are on weekdays so you have weekends free (attending Panhel events, attending other greek organization’s philanthropy events, going to sisterhood events, etc). There is little time commitment at all outside of recruitment week.

Yes you can maintain a long distance relationship while in a sorority. I know people who go home every weekend.

A 3.4 GPA is way above average. You’re fine.

Money: Every sorority is different, but new member dues are usually around $700 - $850 and then it’s about $250 - $350 every semester after that.
