is it hard to keep up with school work?
by: PNMHey Jmu Greeks! I wound love to join a sorority, but the only thing holding me back is keeping up with school work. Is it hard to maintain grades on top of chapter meetings, social events and other activities? I'm aiming to get into the nursing program so I'm just a little nervous. Thank you!

Usually the only things you absolutely 100% have to attend is chapter meetings and for some sororitities philanthropy events so all of the extra stuff you really decide how much time you put in. Also every sororitity has a bunch of every different kind of major so you'll always have somebody to ask about classes, teachers, hw, and to study with.

Hey there! Honestly it's all about your time management. I was never very good at managing my time before I joined a sorority, so it's helped me a lot in that aspect. I've actually gotten the best grades I've ever had in the year I've been in my sorority, so it just all depends on how much work you're willing to put into school and your ability to prioritize school over fun—because it is VERY tempting to want to go out every night when you should be studying. But I'm the type of person where I NEED to get out and have fun or else I'll end up super depressed, so if you thrive with the "work hard play hard" mentality, I'd say a sorority is definitely for you.

a lot of girls go into nursing! It really is what you make it. There are girls who play in every fraternity sport event go, go to every mixer, are officers, etc. but you don't HAVE to do those things. There are girls in my sorority that I LOVE who aren't super active and that's OK
