living in the fraternity as freshman

I have received a bid from a fraternity and I am being told that ALL of the new pledges are going to be living in the house. My parents want me to live in the dorms my first year. Do all pledges live in really? will it be awkward if I don't?

All pledges live in, its a better environment. You got to meet people easier and they are better equipped than the dorms.
