rush fall sorority

I'm a freshman& a pre nursing student due to my heavy course-load my advisor told me to wait untill the fall to join a sorority , but then I hear that you might not get into a sorority if you rush at fall or wait till my sophomore year, is this true? What do u guys think?

a lot of girls rushed as sophomores (even some juniors) this year and got into sororities... i don't see it being an issue!

always rush when formal rush occurs because that way you get to see every chapter.
