A Sorority Girl’s Relationship with WI-FI

All You Need Is Wifi

Whether it be texting, Tweeting, messaging, posting, Snapping, and all other –ing verbs associated with social media, a sorority girl tends to know them all. However, a sorority girl must always add another word to the social media action list: Work. With high numbers of women to communicate with in short periods of time, social media is a necessity in the functions of sorority life.
From spreadsheets to Google Docs to chapter minutes to Pan-Hel updates, we ladies make the most out of the cyber domain with the help of our best friend: WI-FI. Move over diamonds, WI-FI is a sorority girl’s best friend.  We might stress over lost earrings or clothes, but when we lose WI-FI, now that’s the last straw. We simply can’t stand it. Here’s the evidence.

1.  When you can’t send out the latest Formal announcement.

2. When you have an email from your supervisor but can’t respond.

3. When the philanthropy is tomorrow and you can’t post about it.

4. When there’s an impromptu meeting at the house but you never got the group text.

5. When you can’t let everyone know that chapter has been cancelled.

6.  When you need last minute recruitment shoes but the sorority Groupme is down.

7. When you need to add names to the mom’s weekend Google Doc but can’t access the webpage.

8.  When people miss the volunteer sign up deadline because the house is Offline.

9.  When you’ve saved a chapter presentation to your email but it won’t connect.

10. When you have to constantly move to different parts of the house to get a signal…during recruitment week.

Well, there you have it. Snapchats of food and Tweets about the latest clothing decisions of Kim Kardashian aren’t the only things we’re starring at on our screens. Being in a sisterhood is a fun filled and educating experience but there are hardworking ladies behind the scenes who give it their all to make that happen. Each house across the country is filled with women on a mission, and unfortunately, sometimes that mission is to find WI-FI. Let the search continue and may the odds be ever in your favor.
