Lloyd L. Gaines
Lloyd Gaines was a prominent figure during the early civil rights movement. He was denied entry to the University of Missouri School of Law due to his race. As a result of an ensuing court decision, he state of Missouri established the Lincoln University School of Law at which African-American students were admitted. One night in 1939 in Chicago he left the fraternity house where he was staying to buy stamps and never returned.
Paula Jean Welden In 1946 Ms. Welden, the daughter of the well-known industrial engineer, was an college student at Bennington College. She disappeared while walking on Vermont's Long Trail hiking route. At least four other unexplained vanishings were reported to have taken place in the same general vicinity between 1945 and 1950.
Ronald Henry Tammen, Jr. Tammen was a sophomore at Miami University of Ohio residing as a resident assistant in Fisher Hall when he disappeared from his dorm room on April 19, 1953. On a snowy evening, he left a psychology book open on his desk and was never heard from again.
Lynne Schulze In 1971 Lynne Schulze was a student at Middlebury College in Vermont. She was last seen by one of her college friends on December 10th when she abruptly turned back on the way to a literature exam, claiming she had left her favorite pen in her dorm room, where her wallet, checkbook and other belongings were later found.
Josh Guimond In November 2002, Josh Guimond was a 20-year-old student at Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He vanished while walking back to his dorm room after an off-campus party. His disappearance remains a mystery.
