We’ve all heard it before, on campuses across America the academic and philanthropic efforts of the members of fraternities and sororities continue to outpace that of their non-Greek undergraduate peers. Greeks are record setters. It’s not enough for them to just outperform their peers, but it’s important for them to continually improve on their own achievements. Here’s three Greek communities that are coming off of record-breaking spring semesters.
The University of Southern Mississippi
Purdue University Purdue hosts one of the nation's largest Greek communities, with approximately 6,400 students participating in one of the 46 men's fraternities or 29 women's sororities. The Greeks at Purdue University excelled this last spring semester. According to a Purdue Exponent article, the record-setting average GPA for a single semester was 3.05. This is compared to the campus undergraduate average of 2.99. It is also reported that Greek and cooperative students collectively volunteered over 33,000 hours in the spring and raised $307,457.
