100% sure a KD did not start this. Having said that, it's accepted that they did have the best pledge class with DG a close second.

Of course they did! They are the prettiest, smartest,and wealthiest princesses in all Mississippi land! Which according to state wealth and education comparisons, they are middle class and stupid, but wow they sure are pretty!
