The only people I have seen supporting DG Maids are DGs, since they chose to do their own thing and not join in unity with the rest of the sororities.

I've also seen some KD's not supporting Caty. Which sucks for all of us who decided to do this in the first place. Get it together KD..we aren't loosing to DG because your chapter can't get behind its own president.

there are probably a few hard feelings within among seniors due to an issue last spring. Shame on them. It has nothing to do with wanting the other girl to win but everything with wanting to hurt Katy. Don't worry about those few.

I am truly disappointed in KD. I thought their sisterhood was much stronger than this...

This poor freshmen is on to something. Now that everyone is showing their support I've talked to or heard from friends of girls in 3 chapters not voting for who we decided on because they either are friends with the DG running, don't like the girls we picked from a personal issue and refuse to, or hate this block vote and are not voting or voting for an independent. I can't say this out loud or to anyone except my room mate, but I'm scared we did something wrong this year.

It was done this way for YEARS before DG pulled out in the Fall of 2008 and went their own way. Since then the elections have gotten dirtier and dirtier each year! In 2008 and 2009 the other groups remained as a unit and nominated as a group. This arramgement us not a "new thing" for MSU. in 2010 and 2011 each group did their own nominations. The saddest part is that DG does not care ... does not care at all hue much they destroy Greek unity as long as they "win". If you think about the student enrollment at MSU, the Honecoming court is a complete mockery and represents a tiny percentage of MSU students. Vi honestly think the athletes should name one maid for each class and then allow each group to nominate one maid ( must pick which class) and then allow each group to run someone for Miss MSU or Queen but not both. This is how it is done at Ole Miss (yes, they do this right). Sorry but I also don't have full faith that you aren't a DG trying to sabotage the process.

This got a lot more response than I was expecting! This is the original poster. I was afraid someone would think I was just a DG bringing it up but I'm a freshman, not a DG but I don't want to say what so girls don't figure it out. And I'm from out of state and schools in my area called it Hoco for short...didn't realize that mattered. I'm glad other people noticed the groups not fully supporting everything too. Like I said, I wasn't sure what to make of everything since I have no idea how any of this has worked before I got here. I think the whole desperate campaigning is a bit much anyway, but of course I don't want to say that either so people don't think I just don't care about my group or our girl either. I do care, and I want everything to work and for us to all support each other. That's why I freaked a little when I saw people not supporting what was decided on. I don't want to cause problems so I'll leave it alone, I just hope whoever isn't on board doesn't damage what we are working for.

To HOCO and all the others who are posting here and actually putting sorority names and candidates names on here: SHAME ON YOU! You are Mean Girls. You are the epitome of Mean Girls. EVERY sorority will not have every single member agree on their candidate. They do not have to vote, but you would hope they would have enough kindness within their soul to not badmouth others... but there you go, being mean instead of trying to do something good within the greek system. Just think what kind of adult you are going to be...Just think what kind of Mom you will be...and what kind of Mean Girl children you will produce. Without people like you this miserable site would not exist. And HOCO... If you are really someone who is not a full member yet, you have someone to talk to instead of going on this site. She is called your BIG SISTER !!!! Either get with the plan or GET OUT!! Support your group or PLEASE get counseling from someone older and more kind than you!!!!
