Honestly I think that MSU has some Great fraternity and sororities despite what is being said on this site. Besides Kappa Alpha they tend to show their true colors all the time.

Greek life here enhances the college experience. Might be smallest out of sec greek life but that doesn’t matter too much. Sororities are still competitive as are frats. No big deal if you aren’t greek but certainly can’t hurt

MSU is a school for "Everyone". You don't have to be in the Greek system to feel like you "fit-in". Greeks & non-Greeks have a wonderful relationship with each other.

I don't know but the frats never do anything and they are so lame. There are only a handful of sororities that like to have fun.

The university is killing Greek life in an effort to protect it. The weekends are dead here compared to every other major university. You'd probably have more fun at BYU

greek life at MSU is chill. 25% of campus is greek. most involved people on campus. organizations usually push or even require members to be apart of something besides just greek organization. Chapters rank nationally in their perspective organizations.

The school and Greek has improved so much more through the years. The strictness is do to liability concern. We live out of state but were close to student Max Gruver (LSU), look it up. Every schools nightmare and it can happen again anywhere. Most of the people are trashing the school hate MSU it is obvious by the harshness in the reviews. You go to college for the academics, affordability and other activities to be able to deal in the Real World. Greek is great but does not give you much in the long term, a few good friends for life and lot of spent money on mostly social drinking/partying. Part of what makes Mississippi State great is the people and the love for the university. It is not all hicks with missing teeth, again a biased opinion to knock on MSU. State is getting close to 50/50 out of state so it may be more diverse than most SEC schools. Also has the highest African American percentages of the total enrollment in the SEC.
