Because they're interested in YOU! It could be for a myriad of reasons:
-you had an exceptionally strong rec from a well-connected alumna
-you have really high grades and they are focusing on raising GPA
-you held leadership positions in high school and they are looking for future sorority ex-board leaders
-you're from a great high school they want to get more of a stronghold in
-you're a dancer/ singer/ cheerleader/ athlete/ artist/ etc and many of their dancers/ singers/ etc graduated last year or will graduate this year. Houses have to continually rebalance their membership so they don't get stuck not having enough girls for skits or get a rep as "the" athlete house or whatever.
You've decided you don't click with this house based on meeting, what, 10 girls out of 300?
Here is my advice/ tough love: since you keep getting asked back even though you rank them low, other houses aren't inviting you back. Completing a successful Bama rush means waking up each morning and treating the houses you have left as if they are the only ones on campus. They are your ONLY chance to be Greek. Would you rather try out this house to see if you click with your pledge class (since those will be your bff's and roomates, not the upperclassmen), or would you rather not be Greek at all? Tough decisions over the next few days.
#5by: Get Real
Maybe they have been giving you the benefit of the doubt and thought you were a nice girl who was a little nervous. They haven't seen the rude side of you that posts on greekrank and is hateful to people who take time out of their busy lives to try to help you. It's amazing that you can meet a few actives in a sorority and already know you have NOTHING in common with all 300 of them. Do you even listen when people tell you there are all kinds of girls in every sorority?
#6by: Too Good For Them
You are basically saying that you are too good for these houses. The other houses didn't want you back. Deal with it. You cannot tell us that you have already met the 350+ chapter members. You should be able to fit in no problem. If you can't find something in common with 350+ people then the problem is you.
#9by: Look at yourself
Dear Confuzzled, You need to take a deep breath and look inward at yourself. If you have nothing in common with a greek house of 350 women, perhaps greek life is not for you.
Honestly... These chapters are not that different from each other. Wanna be greek? Choose the house that WANTS YOU.

You don't drop houses, they drop you. The ones you don't have anymore have dropped you. They weren't interested. Perhaps they felt like they had nothing in common with you and that you couldn't keep a good convo going. I'm not trying to be hurtful, I'm trying to get you to see the real picture. If any house sees something in you, maybe they are overlooking the problems that other houses saw in you. You should give them a chance because they may be your ONLY chance at greek life.
