Their national wasn't happy about things several years ago and changed chapter advisors and kept a close eye on them. They are NOT on probation

No, DZ is NOT on probation-nationally or by the university. There is absolutely nothing to worry about, I promise. Like others have said, there were some issues several years back, but those things have been addressed and the chapter is thriving!! You would have a very active social life as a DZ :)

No, they aren't on probation anymore. However, you should know that they were on probation for hazing. A girl turned them in during initiation week because one of the seniors verbally abused her during senior night of initiation week. Obviously I'm not a DZ so I'm not sure if they've actually changed anything about how their senior night is run, but you should know.
