legacy?

If my legacy went to school somewhere small and up north is it still likely I would get a bid?

When there are 2000 + girls rushing being a legacy really doesn't help you too much because there is probably a whole pledge class worth of legacies rushing. With that said it might help you, but it doesn't guarantee a bid

Each sorority handles legacy status differently. For my sorority, unless there is something seriously wrong (horrible grades, rude, etc), legacy status will only get you past the first round. After that, you're on your own. I've heard that it's similar with most sororities.

Of course, there are different types of legacies. In-house legacies (younger sister of current chapter member) tend to rank higher, then chapter legacies (daughter/granddaughter of chapter alumna), then non-chapter legacies. That is really a game of connections. But, as stated above, most of the PNMs are probably legacies somewhere. So it might help a little, but do not assume it will get you anything.

Now, in my chapter we have to keep a legacy to second round and then if the pnm makes it to pref they HAVE to be on our first list. If we know we don't want them, they are gone after second

For my sorority, if we pref a legacy, she must appear on our first list as well.

It certainly won't hurt, but it might not help very much because most houses just have so many legacies going through.
