getting a bid

If i Have a good gpa, extracurriculars, but I only have recs for 5 of the sororities, does that mean I could still get a bid? What are my chances of getting dropped?

you don't have a rec for a house, they will drop you. Unless you are SUPER special and they would die if you pledged something else. That is the only reason. Recs are very important.

Other houses don't know who else you got recs for. Having a rec for XYZ but not ABC won't affect you when it comes to XYZ.

i had no recs for any house and still got a bid, and got invited back to 11 houses philanthropy round, and had 3 houses for pref. recs really aren't as important as people say.

You have a good chance of your grades, conversation and you present yourself well.

Recs help you and they also hurt you. If a house wants you, they will find a rec for you. No worries.

You are competing with over 2400 other PNMs. Most of them are awesome girls with good grades, looks, extra curriculars, and recs. Houses can invite X number of PNMs back, so they all have to drop PNMs. Easiest cuts are for grades or no rec. You can't do anything about the grades ( this obv doesn't pertain to you since you said that you had a high GPA) but you can get recs to more houses.

Oh, and nobody knows what your chances are. The better question is are you willing to take a chance by having recs to only 5 houses?

Nothin' you can do about it now.
Only thing left to do now is make sure your clothes are clean, and practice your conversation starters.
