swaps and stuff

This may be a stupid question, but if I'm lucky enough to receive and accept a bid, do I have to go to all the swaps and date parties and events while a new member? I only ask because I'm going to be living off campus so it would be kind of a hassle to get back and forth without a car. Also, actually going to my classes the next morning would be kind of difficult (I like to sleep). Thanks!!

In my group, social activities are not required. But why join a sorority and not do the fun stuff? More than likely you can get a ride, or just go to some of them.
