There's a chance you could still get a bid! If you have a really great personality and make a great first impression you should be okay. However, GPA is usually how first cuts are made. My advice is to go for it. Put your best face forward, be humble, and don't count any house out. You won't know unless you try! Goodluck(:

Give it a try and take advantage of first round to meet people. Especially other Freshman going through rush. But be prepared that your chance at a house is slim. Sorry

Just kick it up freshman year and do it as a sop or, if you are solid first semester, do COB. If you do it next week, you should be prepared to be discouraged.

I would say go ahead and try anyway! A killer personality (read, looks) could help you.

I really don't think so. Don't be too encouraging. A house would have to have absolutely no grade cut off.

and honestly, with a 2.6 in HS, you will struggle as a freshman and you owe it to yourself to start college with a good foundation. greek life is a major, major time suck.

You REALLY need to think hard about whether you need to start greek life at the very beginning of your college career when you had a 2.6 in high school. You will most likely struggle to get going in college. It is harder than high school, and if you only had a 2.6 then I am a little nervous to know what it will be in college. We all want you to be successful, and rushing next week may not be the best idea for your situation. I know it's hard, and it's not ideal, and it's not what you want to do - but you really need to think about how it will affect you in the long run. Greek life is extremely time consuming, and so is studying. It will be hard to manage both, especially first semester when you have swaps, football games, etc. It may be in your best interest to make sure you can handle college first, and then rush spring semester this year or fall semester next year. Chances are, your choices will be way more limited with a 2.6 GPA this year than they will be rushing as a sophomore with a better GPA. Unless you have some serious connections to multiple houses, along with amazing recs and an amazing personality and reputation, I don't see next week going to well for you. You just need to have a discussion with yourself and think about your future and decide what is really best for you and your situation. Good luck with whatever decision you make! We're all cheering for you, but school comes first, even if we don't want it to.

you need to heavily consider waiting to rush till sophomore year to make sure that you can even make the grades to be able to stay in your sorority. i think you'd rather only be in your sorority sophomore-senior year as opposed to joining and having to drop after/during freshmen year because you can't handle school and your sorority at the same time.

you can be in college without being in a sorority, but you cant be in a sorority without being in college. grades. come. first. if you wait to rush till your sophomore year, then you'll have a better idea of whether you can juggle sorority and school over the next 3 years.
