From what I hear they have a large, maybe even half, population that's oos, which isn't uncommon for the Jefferson fraternities. You should be fine, but know that below Old + New Row DX and ATO are probably the most selective houses along with Kappa Sig and maybe ZBT or AKL.

I'm talking about the houses "below" the New + Old Row houses. ATO, Kappa Sig, DX are definitely the most selective of those. ZBT, Lambda Chi, DTD kind of, they're below those three. Then you have AKL, Sigma Pi, Chi Phi, Phi Psi, blah blah blah. O and put Beta wherever you want on there.

I've seriously never heard of AKL. Are they even a real fraternity?

Idk. I would think they hold a few for random awesome dudes but prob super hard. I am a girl so don't really know but hang with a couple of oos DX. Not sure when they got bids.

Most fraternities outside of old row hold a decent amount of spots open for when students have moved onto campus. I can't tell you which ones have more and which ones have less, but you'll find that each house has anywhere from 5-20 spaces open. Don't worry too much, just make sure you're in contact right from the get go so you don't miss out on at least the opportunity to get a bid.

how hard is it to get a bid from dx, is it as hard as say KA or SNU

Hell no. They are a middle of the road house and not even a top 5 new row house

Is not as political as KA or SN for bids. They get good in-state guys that may not have all the right connections etc. or big money. KA and SN are two of the tougher gets. DX is established and solid but most likely still open to strong guys from oos.

Yes, they'll take oos. There may be a few bids at the start of the semester for the right individuals. They are a relatively conservative house. Maybe not as popular as the top New Row houses like OX, Pike, EX. As another commentor said "established and solid".
