gpa
by: worriedis having a 3.25 gpa going to get me cut from a lot of houses? Do they just look at the number, or to they look at your whole transcript because my grades have steadily gone up in the last 2 years of high school.

3.25 isn't that bad. Think of rush like a game. The higher your GPA is, the better you'll be. But I can absolutely assure you that there will be MANY girls with a GPA below a 3.25 and for that matter below a 3.0 and a 2.5 even who are trying to rush. I would say that if you have above a 3.0 you're probably good, maybe not for the top houses of upper middle, but for a decent number of them.

How GPA is generally used:
1. As a cut-off. Different houses have different minimums but usually between 3.0-3.2. Of course there are exceptions but this is generally the rule.
2. As a method to score academic potential. Most houses use a scoring system to rank pnms. Academic potential is generally one of many categories. Instead of 4 points in that category you might get 3 but it won't really affect you that much. Consider two girls who are being scored on ease of conversation, gpa, connections (legacy/strength of recs), and presentation. You might get a 3 in gpa and the other girl might get a 4 but you there are 3 other categories where you can gain points. Other houses don't use this method and do like a 1-5 how well do you think she will fit in our house and if you make the cut-off gpa generally won't factor into that.
3. To break a tie. If you and another girl get the same number of points and the house is divided on whom to put through to the next round GPA is often used as a tie breaker.

good summary on gpa but tells pnms more than they need to know. Most of this information shouldn't really be shared outside of your house and MSS.
