They either want you or they don't -- most will decide early so they can cut you after first round to make room for others. Almost all the sororities have a lot of legacies, so the title isn't nearly as cool or special when your mom and grandma went through rush -- don't let anyone fool you into thinking "you're totally fine" just cause you're a legacy. Some houses already know exactly which legacies they are cutting.

Being a legacy is an advantage, but not a promise that you're getting a bid. I know so many beautiful, fun, amazing girls who were legacies to houses and got cut early on in rush. Sometimes, you don't belong somewhere just because your Grandma did, and it's a good thing! If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

Sororities are not required to keep their legacies. The most you would get is an invitation to second round....after that, who knows. But many have enough legacies to fill 1, 2, or 3 pledge classes. They can't keep them all.
If you are a legacy, even if your mom is a national officer, it is NOT guaranteed that you'll get a bid. Maybe if your sister is a current member, in the chapter. But sometimes not even then.
