going out

by:

if you had to guess on average how many nights a weeks do AXO, AGD, DDD, PHI MU, PI PHI, ZTA, and ADII go out? like each sorority specifically. I want a decent balance. Like yes we are going to college to learn, but if I don't go out and have fun while I am young when will I...?

Like you've heard a bazillion times. All sororities have goody goodies. All sororities have party girls. All sororities have nerds. Some girls will go out every night. Others may never go out. Some may just go out on the weekend. They're in every.single.sorority. You can't stereotype this!!!!!!! You will find your group of girls and you will go out as much as you prefer.

Like you will have over 130 in your pledge class from across the nation. I PROMISE you will have girls to go out with every single night. You'll have girls to stay in and study with every single night. You'll have girls who want to stay in and watch chick flicks and drink wine every night. No need to stereotype the groups. With over 130 girls, you're going to be just fine.

Well, first semester you'll just be partying at frats or in your dorm. Pledge parties at houses on campus with different fraternities are no longer allowed, so where sororities used to have a pledge party every single night planned with a diff frat, now they have nothing. So it seems like going out first semester will dwindle a little bit for ALL sororities. You can't go to bars until 2nd semester, and you can't go to REAL bars (moes, the booth, innisfree, gallettes) until sophomore year

Why are they no longer allowed?

For the last several years cops have been busting them and arresting people. The university does not allow sororities and fraternities to host them anymore. Parties must be registered by fraternities at the fraternity houses (so weekend band parties and swaps are allowed) but pledge parties are not.

They were never "allowed" technically and I bet $100 fraternities this year try and host em.

there is no way that there aren't going to be pledge parties, everyone is told that they're illegal but most sororities (at least the ones with a good social life) still coordinate them. Also, only boys get arrested. The cops won't arrest any sorority girls, they'll just ask them to leave. But like was previously said some girls go out almost every night some girls never attend a single party during the week. It's really up to you.

Pledge parties definitely still happen. I hosted one at my off campus house last year....

It doesn't matter how much you stay in or go out within either of those sororities, you'll find people within each that want to do all the same things as much as you and some less, but it is possible to be friends with both. But regardless, no matter what you end up doing, if you let your grades slip because of it you'll get sent standards at which ever house you end up at real quick, and there WILL be consequences at each.
