old row / new row

This is not what it means at all...... It's the oldest and more prestigious sororities and fraternities on campus. Yes, they are sponsored by budweiser but it's not a drinking organization? Old row= more popular new row=still good, just don't have the title

Honestly it's all dumb, but you'll get it when you get here I guess. Old row sororities are just known to be the harder ones to get into, the more competitive ones, the sororities with the most money, and the sororities with the most tradition.
All sororities here are awesome and great, though. It's just a title and something they are apart of. Old row all wear tshirts that say they are old row, it's just been around forever

Actually, a drinking organization IS all it is. I know you guys like to think you're so much better than the other organizations but let me just tell you, you're not. There are sororities and fraternities that are not old row that were on campus before several old row sororities and fraternities. Hmmmm, the oldest and most prestigious? I think not.

they may not all be the oldest, but they are definitely the most prestigious. The 7 old row houses are the top 7 houses on campus. All of the new row houses rank below all of the old row houses. Being old row doesn't make a house top tier, and being new row doesn't make a house bottom tier. But it just works out that the old row houses happen to be top and most prestigious houses on campus.

Oh hush. There are some sororities that are new row that have been around longer than some old row, but since the new row's nationals won't allow them to be sponsored by Budweiser, then they have to take the name "new row" even though some are older and have been around longer than some old row!!! So all this "new row" and "old row" is a mess. Just look for the group who you feel most at home with and that's all that should matter.
