Because you're trying to make a good impression on us and if you can't go one weekend without partying, lord knows what you'll be doing this semester

It's not really their first weekend in college, they're still at orientation. The pnms can do whatever they want, but they just need to be aware that partying may not be in their best interest right now

Sure you COULD go to a party and have it not affect your rush, but chances are it will. There are so many ways to make a bad impression when you're drinking, and just the fact that you're there will likely rub actives the wrong way. There will be plenty of parties after rush! You have 4 great years ahead of you; be patient.
