drinking/partying in house

by: SEC

Why are fraternities at Alabama allowed to drink in house and in letters but at other SEC universities like Kentucky you can't? I never understood this

Because UA as a school is more lenient on greek life. A lot of the funding for the school comes from greek alumni and what the alumni want, the alumni get as long as they keep their money flowing to the school. So if that means that the alums want the behavior of their chapters looked over, then it happens. Also, I think Tuscaloosa as a city is a lot more lenient on partying than other college towns in the SEC.
