Bid Day was Surprising this Year
by: xxI feel like there were some major shakeups this year, and I don't know why?? Aphi seriously outperformed phi mu and zeta this year. Chi O and DDD did awesome, so did KD. Zeta stole a bunch of girls from pi phi this year? What happened with phi mu and axo? In the past they basically got their pick. Barely any of the pnms I follow went theta/dz/gphi this year so I'm not sure what their pc looks like. Thoughts?

The Aphi phenomena this year was actually the real situation at bama.
On this site in many, many, omg many threads Aphi was purposely placed in low rankings by certain posters. Then those threads were repeatedly bumped each day for the last month.
The low rankings were simply not true and created a false impression. I warned that doing this program against APhi specifically would backfire once the pnms were able to see for themselves each house.
APhi has been for many years upper middle row directly competing with Zeta. In the last couple of years Zeta has been threatening OR.
Both houses have been extensively bullied on this site.
Just below the Aphi and Zeta level is Piphi & Gphi.
So while congrats is due to APhi, in reality they performed as expected. Zeta did very well too.
In fact, all of the houses did well. It was a great group of women who were rushing.

This!!!! I knew the aphi hate campaign was going to backfire! I’m not even a stan but it was painfully obvious what was happening on this site against them. Aphi and ZTA are literally in the same exact social circles. They go for the same types. It’s nothing new. So happy to seee them come out on top against all the hate!

Aphi and Zeta are fairly similar houses, and I think people who aren't in either house saw ranks with zta on the tip top tier and aphi near the bottom over the past few months, and based their expectations on that. But if you actually looked at their actives, their pc isn't too unexpected, especially considering zeta is taking the girls old pm would, and pm is focusing on competing with axo lately. I doubt any of this will change rankings on here but I can't help but wonder if pm is going to lose it's "looks" reputation with their third pc like this in a row

OR knows those girls opening Aphi bids on tt were dropped by their houses in round 1. Those girls aren’t their girls.

Oh you OR fuddie duddies! Don’t be haters, your momma taught you better manners than that! You would have loved to have the girls Aphi took this year and quit trying to save face by saying you didn’t take TT girls! OR took Bella who not only was a HUGE TT girl but also was in the Vogue article! Time to quit being a hypocrite and move over… Aphi just took the #1 rank at UA!

There’s no mystery here, actives know who they released on round 1. They are watching them open Aphi bids. There was no fight over these tt girls. At least not with the top tier houses.

I think we owe serious apologies to the women of Aphi and Theta. I walked the row with my friends today and they had the hottest pc classes by far.
Zeta has acted like they are top for too long and we couldn’t be happier to see them humbled today. For the first time ever, we want to swap with Theta.

THEY DO AND IF PEOPLE CAN’T SEE THAT THEY ARE DELUSIONAL! Those girls are honestly sad. All of the “Alpha Phi is #1 now!” is a complete joke. After one pledge class that has no merit besides they took risky TikTokers??? Be fr. Their way of staying face when they know they got the girls every other house dropped. A bunch of wannabe Zeta’s/Phi Mu’s

I don’t totally agree with this. I’m sorry, but anyone at Alabama knows that the girls who end up in Alpha Phi are usually the ones who are dropped from other houses due to low grades/bad reputation/perceived risk from social media (some girls are ranked riskier than others and that’s just how it is). Now, could becoming a TikTok house work in their favor down the road? Maybe. But it’ll be a few years before seeing that difference.
Zeta did good and they have been the past few years if we’re being real. Zeta doesn’t compete with Alpha Phi, they compete with Phi Mu. Would I say it’s their best pledge class? Maybe not. However, they performed just as I expected. Not better not worse so it’s a toss up with them.
Phi Mu… oh boy… I’m a die hard Phi Mu stan but I’m so confused by their pledge class. I think they really slipped this year. You can’t tell me their pledge class is any different than XO or AXO’s? Zeta’s too but maybe coming across a bit more reserved/strict in rules? Don’t really know how to explain it. I have a feeling they are about to fall along with AXO and AGD. The white house is only going to work as a rush tactic for so long. Tri Delt and XO creeping in QUICKLY in my opinion. And again, this is all just opinion

Time will tell on all the classes. PM was VERY happy, so let them have that. They wanted pretty, kind, smart and sweet. Based on what I know, they got that. Congratulations to all the groups for getting their type of girl. This was a very strong group!

It is so funny to see everyone here on GR still thinking OR/NR means anything. The only thing it really shows is hometown vs the entire country. I know all the old mommas love the idea of hometown but OOS PNMs know that won't lead to great networks, lifelong friends, or better dating circles. Amazing OOS PNMs were spread out through all of the NR houses-bringing all of those houses up. I mean, have you seen Theta's PC this year? There were a few CA girls who easily would have been PM or AXO just a few years ago. GPhi and Theta had another great recruitment. Soon SK will have the newest house on the row AND a huge alumni network that extends all across the country - you can't underestimate the pull of that. Times are changing fast. This site doesn't help OR at all so all of the older alums and AL moms need to think of the damage they are doing to their chapter by continuing to create a separation. All you are doing is highlighting how insular and backward your hometown girls are.

The facts are that several houses characterized as OR have built in new member classes. That is these long term Alabama houses have already pre-selected much of their new members before rush starts: alum selections, close friends of actives, etc. In reality these houses have very few trully open spots once recruitment starts.
So guess what - everyone else gets dropped whether they wanted these houses or not. Then these houses claim that they are better than much of sorority row because they dropped the girls who went somewhere else. What? Some OR houses would have dropped them anyway since they did not have room in their already pre-selected new member class.
It is a false claim made by several houses that great girls only went other houses because they dropped them in OR, when in reality they did not have room for very many unknown (to them) pnms to start with.
All of the houses "below" the top row got top pnms. Since many were dropped the 1st day it is unknown if they would have ever selected any of those top row houses.
