Here’s what you don’t understand. We don’t want the same girls. The girls that you want are not on our radar. You may be popular with social media, but that isn’t our real life. The connections we make will determine the social standing after college. You won’t be in our country clubs or junior league. We won’t invite you to parties in our neighborhood because we’ve seen how you act in public. Your children won’t get the top honors. You may not care. But that’s the difference. You’ll say it doesn’t matter where you pledge once you leave college. That no one cares. You would be very wrong. And that is what determines society in southern cities.

I have several friends named after grandmothers. It’s not odd at all.

Some 60 year old must have written this. No, your sorority no long determines your “social standing” in the future. Baby, this is the university of Alabama, not Harvard. Get over yourself!!!

It absolutely does. Girls that just graduated have invites the second they move for their jobs. Obviously in your world that’s not the case, which proves her point. There is a difference in money and society.

Do you have any idea how many doctors and lawyers are in the junior league? Obviously not. You are the one not aware of the world today.

Doctors and lawyers are in organizations of all kinds. Wealthy families send students to all schools - the fact that you think that having low economic diversity is a GOOD thing is quite sad and definitely helps show that you are super old. Grammy, your hay day is over, you dont need to bully teenage girls online because your husband doesn’t talk to u. Women today don’t aspire to the same insular wealth you “achieved” (inherited). They become independently wealthy and connected by working hard and connecting with other hard working, smart people. Social status is no longer just about how much money you have. Nobody cares about your antiquated junior league bullsht

You were literally praising the unviversity for having one of the highest mean incomes -- i'm responding to what you said dumb dumb.
also, national merit scholars aren't necessarily associated with a certain income level - DUH. it's based on MERIT.
