Do they automatically cut everyone under 3.5 GPA?

What is a “grade exception”? Like do sororities only do that for their really close friends?

A "grade exception" can be for any reason they want when there's something super special about a pnm that overrides her GPA. This is almost always for close connections from highly respected sisters, alums, or even nationals. And like if you were a supermodel or famous in some way or have other attributes that they value, that could be an exception as well. But for influencers, attitudes have begun to change, and so many of the bigger ones have turned out to just be thirsty for some letters for their brand, not to actually stick around for sorority life. And with so many having shown they're not even interested in a college degree, they are being seen now as much more of a liability than an asset at most houses. Those are not going to be a grade exception.

Apparently Piphi has mandatory study sessions and gpa requirements. Lots of rules.

Zta has less rules. More freedom.

Mandatory study sessions are in lots of houses and are for new members only in their first semester, and it's a very good idea that helps a lot of people. College is not like high school where your days are pretty much planned for you and there's a consistent routine. Your new lifestyle is very different, with almost limitless personal freedon and endless distractions, and you are on your own to figure it out. Required study sessions help you refocus back on your studies and develop better habits before bad ones set in.

Every house has study hall and grade requirements. The difference is Pi Phi girls aren’t embarrassed to be seen in their letters. Zetas are. Ever seen Kylan in a Zeta shirt?

No one picks Piphi over Zta. Piphi is like still living with your parents.

Thanks for all the responses, y’all. But does anyone know if these houses, or which houses, cut everyone under 3.5?

I think it’s listed in Greek chic.

Not trying to be mean, but there’s literally no way ZTA has a 3.5 GPA cut. Alpha Chi and Alpha Gam probably do, with exceptions for highly connected PNMs.

Looked it up:
Pi phi and zeta are 3.3
Tri delt is 3.2

Hi, yes I saw that.

The only one that lists over a 3.5 is AOPi. But based on what everyone is saying, I thought the Panhel site might not be accurate because of all the posts about how sororities will cut you if you’re under a 3.5.

I’m so confused!

I’m confused too! Can an active comment on whether the GPA numbers on the Panhellinic site are lower than what sororities actually use for cuts?

I suspect the grade point cutoff probably differs based off if you are an incoming freshman vs someone who is a sophomore or up. HS gpas should be higher.
