I need help pnm right here

by:

Ok so I get a bid and then hopefully get into the sorority I want say it’s $8,000 for first year. Is that for every year? I know it includes a meal plan. But $8,000 every single year. How
Inch is it if I want to live in the house sophomore year? How do do many people afford this? I know most girls end up dropping out junior and senior year because they make their friends and have their crew and it’s not worth it at that point anymore. So it really worth it?

Most actives do NOT drop their junior and senior year. That’s a horrible attitude. Don’t rush if that’s your plan.

I thinking she meant that some do but maybe she won’t? I don’t know. I know about 10 girls that are dropping out this year.

Sorority life is expensive. I have no plans to o live in house but accurate a little over $8 freshmen year and then paid $7 last year. It is a financial commitment so if anyone is paying for themselves this is really something to think about before you join as you end up paying for some event merch , swap clothes , formal and date party clothes, etc. I am going to be a junior and I some of my friends are dropping for different reasons - money or last year they only went to major events like our formals and our big date parties. So they aren’t getting anything out of it anymore. I’m living with girls from my sorority and other sororities this year I can’t see myself hanging out at the house as op said I have my crew.

It is a financial commitment and social commitment. It is smart to think it through.

It definitely is a good idea to think about the money and / or at least discuss with parents. A few girls in my dorm dropped as the parents did not know how expensive it was and refused to pay.

If you live in the house as a sophomore/junior the cost isn't dramatically different from what you'd pay for room and board (meals) living in the dorms anyway. It's like $15,000/year.

You get the most for your money if you live in the house, but not everyone gets to!

Some girls drop as juniors/seniors, but they are not the majority at all.
